Volunteering

We need your support in the following ways:

  • Prayer partner
  • Financial supporter
  • Mentoring
  • Teaching
  • Re-entry assistance
  • Job connector

bridge 2 hope is always seeking to add committed Christians to its volunteer staff. Volunteers can serve in a number of ways: mentoring inmates, writing letters, raising support, teaching, donating books or equipment, or visiting some of the needy prisoners. The process of becoming a volunteer with bridge 2 hope begins by making contact with David Cheyne either by telephone or email (use the Contact Us link).

For those volunteers that will be going inside one of the institutions an application is completed with the Virginia DOC. An orientation meeting is provided once a month by DOC for those volunteers. Upon DOC approval the volunteer would coordinate their activities inside the prison through Chaplain David Cheyne.

Volunteers meet together with David Cheyne and the Board members from time to time for feedback, prayer, and encouragement.

What Keeps Us Going

As one former inmate declared, "Even when you think you have nothing, God can give you hope."

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
